Three adjacent cooling towers
that were used to cool
ammonia chillers were treated with three different technologies; all three
cooling towers were doing the same job using the same makeup water. After
a year the cooling towers were opend for inspection showing the best
performance by the UET water treatment system. The pictures taken
during the inspection are shown below.

UET Technology was
used to treat one of the cooling towers.
The system was installed as a sideline, pumping water from the sump
through the UET system and back into the sump. The evaporator pipes were found
to be clean without any trace of scale.

Chemical treatment was used to treat the second cooling tower.
The chemicals were injected into the make-up water, proportionally to the
make-up water added to the water and controlled from the water meter.
A slight build-up of scale was noticed on the pipes.

Magic Ring is a technology used to
treat the third-cooling tower. The
ring is a coil that is wrapped externally on the cirulating pipe. The
evaporator coils were found to be heavily scaled.
